transfer domain

  I can’t allow my domain to transfer to another provider.

  It says: Oops! Something went wrong and your request could not be processed. Please try again or Contact Support if you continue to have trouble.

  When I click: Accept Transfer or Request Transfer Code.

  What should I do?

  What is the Custom Domain name (example: mysite.com) that you are trying to transfer?

  WordPressdotcom addressed (example: papeisdeangola.wordpress.com) cannot be transferred to another registrar/provider.

  The reason you are getting an error message is because your domain name CAMESANGOLA.COM appears to have expired on February 27th. Here’s what happens when you let a domain expire: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

  I’ve tagged this for Staff attention to see if there is anything they can do for you. If they are able to recover the domain, most likely there will be an additional charge made by domain registrar.

  Hey @papeisdeangola ,

  As @justjennifer mentioned, your domain expired almost two weeks ago and you’ll need to renew it before transferring it over to a new host.

  The other issue is that the account/username you used to contact us is not associated with the domain camesangola.com. You’ll need to log into the account that is connected to the domain in order to renew it. The renewing option is available but won’t be there after two weeks, so be sure to log in and renew the upgrade.

  Dear staff-doublebassd ,

  The domain camesangola.com was bought through another account but it was transfer to this account (company account) – (that’s why i’m able to access the “transfer domain to another registar” function, etc)

  The thing is, I knew that the domain was about to expire and waited to do so, so I could bought it from the other registar due to the company policy, and the fact that already had another domains there.

  But after expired, the other registar continues to say that the domain belongs to someone else and it’s not available. That’s why I tried the transfer domain but it doesn’t give me the transfer code so.. I already paid the domain transfer at the other registar… I only need the domain cancelled to be available for buying.

  @papeisdeangola –

  staff-doublebassd is Staff and will be able to see if the upgrade was transferred to the account you are posting from.

  However, if you let the domain expire, it is entirely possible that someone else bought it in the meantime. Please read the support doc I referred you to earlier. In this case, there’s really nothing WPcom can do.

  Hi there,

  I would recommend you renewing camesangola.com before transferring it – you won’t be able to transfer the domain if it is expired. As @JenT says, after a few weeks, you can lose the domain and there is no guarantee that you’ll be able to retrieve it. Someone else may claim it.

  Also, the domain is still under someone else’s account. If you attempted to get it transferred over to you, it was unsuccessful. I would contact the owner and either have them renew the domain and transfer it over to you, transfer the domain to you so that you can renew it, or have the owner post in this thread verifying that it is okay for staff to transfer to the domain over to you.
