transfer domain
-
Back in June, I subscribed to the premium service and got a domain name. WordPress, however, couldn’t meet my needs so I went to Bluehost and ended my subscription with WordPress. But, my domain was locked for 45 days. Well, it’s still locked. It doesn’t even appear in my domain tab, just the WordPress variant. Can someone please help me. It’s been over 90 days— the domain should have been unlocked by now. WildWestDomain will not help me.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Is this for the domain, conceptsatwork.net?
I see you cancelled that domain on 1 June 2016.
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, but the registrar has the right to hold onto that domain until its expiration date or to sell it privately at auction instead of ever releasing it. We have no control over this – the moment you pressed Cancel on that domain we lost any and all control we had over the domain. At the same time you also willingly gave up ownership of the domain so you no longer have any claim to it. The registrar can do whatever they want with that domain.
If you wanted to use the domain somewhere else you could have transferred it instead of cancelling it. Then you would have remained the owner.
Looking at the domain’s current status I might still be able to restore it to our account, in which case you should be able to transfer it once it’s restored. But our registrar might charge an additional fee to do this. Let me know if you want me to attempt it.

I contacted support back in June (when I had the subscription) and I specifically asked them not to cancel the domain. I wanted it transferred. They said it might take 45 days. So I waited.
I contacted Wild West directly and they can’t help me stating that I’d have to work through WordPress.
Please attempt to restore. Will I have to wait another 45 days?
Thanks.

I found your support chat with us from 1 June. At the time of that chat your domain had already been cancelled, and I see no mention of you having to wait any period of time for the domain. I do see the person you chatted with attempted to restore the domain, but it appears our registrar never replied. My colleague should have followed up on that, and I apologise for that oversight.
I’ve emailed our registrar to see if we can still get back that domain. I should hear back from them within a day or two. If they are able to restore the domain you should be able to transfer it out the moment it’s active in your account again, provided it’s not transfer-locked due to the recovery – that should not happen under normal circumstances but as this is very late for a domain recovery it’s possible.

So it appears the domain was restored after you had cancelled it in June, but our registrar’s notification of this never reached us. I’ve restored the subscriptions to your account and you should now be able to manage the domain again.
If you go to My Site ->Domains and click the arrow next to your domain you should see the option to transfer the domain. Click the button to start the process and you will receive an email with the transfer code. That code you give to your new registrar, and from there it takes about a week for the transfer to complete.

Let me know if you run into any trouble with that.
