transfer domain

  Hi there,
  I own a domain with godaddy, and would like to transfer it to wordpress. It will be easier for me to use wordpress for domain, hosting and web design tool.
  Could you please help me with that?

  Also, I have a custom gmail address (same as my website name). Will I have to do something with that after we transfer my domain?

  Hi Sofia,

  I own a domain with godaddy, and would like to transfer it to wordpress.

  We don’t currently support incoming domain transfers, however you can still use your GoDaddy domain on WordPress.com. You can ‘map’ your domain with Domain Mapping:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  You will need a paid plan on your WordPress.com site. Each plan includes a domain credit which you can use a domain you already own (or register a new one).

  Also, I have a custom gmail address (same as my website name). Will I have to do something with that after we transfer my domain?

  If you have email set up through that domain, your email records (MX records) will also need to be updated. There are some instructions here:

  Manage Your DNS Records

  Please add the DNS records (MX records) to your site before you update the nameservers.
