Transfer Domain

    I already have a domain and web hoster, who I am happy with and would like to stay with (as I’ve only just renewed my plan with them). My website was a WordPress design before, created by a web designer but he’s gone out of business and isn’t answering my queries on updating my website. I have bought a new WordPress theme and downloaded the WordPress software but when creating an account with WordPress I’m only given two options, transfer my domain to WordPress or Map my domain. Both cost extra money but, besides that, how was I able to have a WordPress theme on my website with another Web Hoster before?! Without having either…

    So my question is, how else can I do this, I’m a complete novice but willing to learn.

    I have created a new MariaDB database on my web server, I’ve completed the wp-config details and uploaded all WordPress software to Filezilla. How do I now get my website back up and running?

    Hi there,

    Your designer used self-hosted installation of the WordPress.org software which rather than a WordPress.com-hosted site.

    This support forum is designed to help sites hosted by WordPress.com.
    wordpress.com and wordpress.org are two different thing
