Transfer Domain

  We currently have a domain registered with HostPapa. We would like to move it from our current Joomla site to WordPress. We still want to manage our domain through HostPapa. How do we move the domain name?

  Hi there,

  We do not have a built in path for migrating a site from Joomla to WordPress.com. Is it your intent to move the domain only, and set up a new site here? Or do you instead want to transfer as much data as possible from the Joomla site to the WordPress.com site?

  All our plans include the ability to “map” or connect a domain you have through another provider, or transfer it for free so it is registered here instead. Either option will give your WordPress.com site the custom URL you are seeking.

  If you need to move Joomla content over to WordPress.com then you will need a “plugin” to make that move. I was able to find this one which should do the trick: https://wordpress.com/plugins/fg-joomla-to-wordpress/roeddehousemuseum.wordpress.com
