Hi there I’m looking for help with transferring a domain i purchased from godaddy. I received an email saying that it was canceled from yall this am and I have been waiting for this to go through for a month now. I followed the instructions and did the work on both ends to initiate the process. I’m confused as to why this is canceled and I’m really needing to update the .wordpress to my .org address asap as a missing the potential to connect with clients because my.org website is on my business cards and is currently not being utilized. can you please help me asap?

  • Hi!

I just want to clarify that I am understanding your question correctly…

You are looking to transfer registration for the domain bodydrifthealingarts.org FROM GoDaddy TO WordPress.com? Or were you trying to do it the other way around?

    Hi there!

Thanks! I’ve checked and found that you did pay for transferring the domain bodydrifthealingarts.org to us, but the transfer process was never initialized. Additionally, I found from the domain’s WHOIS records that the domain was registered on January 22, 2023. So it’s not 60 days old yet. It’s not possible to transfer a domain to another registrar until it’s at least 60 days old.

So the only way to use the domain with your WordPress.com site now is to use what’s called a Domain Connection. Domain connection lets you keep your domain registered with GoDaddy while pointing it to WordPress.com nameservers. It’s included with all WordPress.com plans. You will need to upgrade your site to a WordPress.com plan to use a domain connection (and for other features, like setting your domain as the primary address of your site).

I’ve refunded the $19 you paid for the domain since the transfer wasn’t going to work. Please go to this link and upgrade your site to a plan. After upgrading, you’ll want to follow these steps:

We can help you choose a WordPress.com plan for you. Would you like to tell us a bit about the site you’re building? What’s the site for, and what features do you need on your site? This will help us learn more about your site goals and share personalized suggestions with you.
