Transfer Domain

  Hello ,

  I have an issue with my church’s domain.
  It seems to have expired and we don’t know who the owner of the domain is or who manages the WordPress account.
  What I do know is that
  1. It was active till march 12, 2025
  2. It was WordPress hosted.
  I was able to fetch the website snapshot via https://web.archive.org/ and I see the below header on the HTML.

  And the snapshot was taken on 12 March 2025.

  I would really like to get the domain to my account and handle the subscriptions. Is there any way I could do that.

  We can’t help as that site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. You must contact your hosting support to solve this problem yourself.

  Hey @staartmees,

  Thank you fr your reply.

  The login URL for the domain was https://monashunitingchurch.org.au/wp-login.php , which i used to add content.

  and the page does have the meta data as.
  name=”generator” content=”WordPress 6.7.2″
  
  Would the domain support still not come under wordpress ?

  It’s completely understandable to be confused by the WordPress name — there are actually two different versions of WordPress:

  • WordPress.com, which we support here, is a managed hosting that includes hosting, backups, security, and support.
  • WordPress.org is free, open-source software that people use with their own hosting providers. You can read more about the differences here:
