Transfer domain

    Hello.

I have a domain registred in Locaweb. I’ve changed the DNS and WordPress has already recognized it. However, my website is off-line and I don’t have any idea of what happened. Could someone help me please?

    Thanks!

Domain updates take time to propagate. It’s possible you just didn’t wait long enough.

I checked http://eventosske.com/ and that domain is working for me right now.

Were you able to access the website?

Yes! The http://eventosske.com/ site looks fine to me! Are you able to see it working now? If not, try clearing browser cache as a first troubleshooting step. If that still doesn’t help, make sure you’ve given enough time for the new settings to start working. Some locations get them updated faster that others, that’s normal for domain record changes. How long ago did you update it?

Everything is back to normal now. Thanks for your help!

    It is off-line again.

No, it works. The problem is your header is not optimized. Edit the file to be 72dpi and then re-upload it.

The problem is not the header, as it has always worked fine. I’m having problems with the domain. I can’t acess my site. The following error appears:

Oops! Google Chrome could not find eventosske.com

Access a cached copy of eventosske.com

And it is not only in my computer nor only in Chrome.

@eventosske, domains take up to a few days to propagate completely. This is because different internet service providers pick up changed DNS information at different intervals. For example, if my ISP picks up the updated DNS change sooner than yours, I could start seeing the domain working before you do. How long it takes is up to your ISP. The problem you described where it works sometimes and then stops working could also be related to your ISP. This is why domain providers tell you to wait at least a couple days after making any DNS change before you can expect it to start working reliably.

I looked up the Whois information for eventosske.com and it shows that the DNS was last updated on 2014-01-08. This means you should wait at least another day or so before you can rule out DNS propagation (which is a normal part of any DNS change).

If you’re still having problems after waiting a day or so, please check with your local ISP to ask for help because I checked the name server settings for eventosske.com and I see that they correctly point to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM, and NS3.WORDPRESS.COM right now and I (and others) have have confirmed that domain is working normally for us in our area.
