Hi there,
In order to transfer your domain you will need to cancel the private registration, unlock your domain as you stated, and obtain your authorization code. You can cancel Private Registration first by going to Store > My Upgrades in your Dashboard. After you have canceled it, please go to your Store -> Domains page and follow the prompts you find there:
1. Look for Domain Administration and change the dropdown menu to “Transfer to Another Registrar”
2. It will state that you may not transfer a domain name for 60 days after its purchase. Click the button “Next Step”
3. Enter a new password, putting it into both blanks (this is a new one you’re making up, so make sure to write it down)
4. Write down your Customer Number which is displayed just below
5. Click the “Save Password” button
6. Click the link for “Manage Your Domains”
7. Log in with your customer number and password that you wrote down in steps 3 & 4 above
8. You will be prompted to create a PIN number
9. You should now be logged in and see a list of your domains. Select your domain.
10. Now, you will need to unlock your domain. Right under Domain Settings you will see ‘Lock’. Click on Manage right underneath ‘On’. Check ‘Off’ and click Save.
11. Toward the bottom of the page you will see ‘Authorization Code’. Please click ‘Email my code’.There are instructions and screenshots here:

Hi there!
I looked into this and found that you should have received an email to verify your email address. Until it is verified you cannot make any changes to your domain.
I have resent the verification email (sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes). Also, I was wondering, did you make any changes to your contact information? If you did, please note that your domain is placed on a 60 day lock if you did, meaning that you cannot transfer the domain for 60 days from the date that you edited your contact info. ICANN (the governing body over domains) places a 60 day lock on all changes to contact info to prevent fraud. This is a requirement placed on all domain registrars, so there is no way to waive it.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions as I know this can get a bit complicated!
