Transfer domain address between blogs

I created two blogs with different names and wordpress.com addresses and later decided to purchase a domain name through WordPress. My hope was to give each blog an identifying name within the domain, but the only information I find in WordPress supprot is how to redirect to the domain from the old address, not eliminate the wordpress.com address in favor of the new domain address. I then decided I would be satisfied if I could move my preferred address from Blog 1 to Blog 2. I went through the steps of giving Blog 1 a new address, thinking it would free up the preferred address, but the program didn’t release the address I wanted to move — it apparently just created another version of Blog 1, so now I have two versions of Blog 1 with different addresses and Blog 2 still awaits some new address. I am very frustrated! Any suggestions appreciated.

A domain can only point at a single blog. I’ve often wondered if it would be possible to point two subdomains of a single TLD (top level domain) but I have no idea if that is possible or not. What you would end up with would be
blog1.yourdomain.com
blog2.yourdomain.comIf the above can be done then you might be able to do this as well.
1st blog: yourdomain.com
2nd blog: blog2.yourdomain.comThe only ones that could tell you if this is possible would be staff. Since the contact form is still missing in action, I’ll tag this thread for staff attention and hopefully they will respond.
