Transfer Domain and Payment
-
I’d like to transfer a domain to WordPress. The domain is currently done through Weebly. I just want to get some clarification.
If I transfer the domain to WordPress, I will no longer need to pay Weebly for the domain, correct?
Also, apparently, I must sign up for a premium plan when transferring the domain. Does this mean that I from his point forward will have to pay the premium fee of $96 per year PLUS the domain fee? Or after this initial transfer, I will only have to pay for the $96 yearly fee since this already includes the custom domain name?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,

Yes, you don’t need to pay Weebly once you do a domain transfer to WordPress.com.
Also, apparently, I must sign up for a premium plan when transferring the domain. Does this mean that I from his point forward will have to pay the premium fee of $96 per year PLUS the domain fee? Domain transfer can be done with upgraded WordPress.com plan starting from Personal to Premium and Business. Your domain will be renewed automatically for another year upon completion of a successful transfer. So if you are looking out to sign up for Premium plan then you don’t need to pay the domain fee for an year as each paid plan comes with a free domain credit.
