Transfer domain from my friend to myself as a registrar via WordPress

    Goodmorning,

    I would like to transfer a domain from a friend to myself, so I will become the new registrar.

    I found an article that shows the other way around. However, if I have the token from my friend, can I also register my domain via WordPress?

    If the domain is not registered with WordPress.COM the domain name registration can’t be transferred to WordPress.COM, they are not set up for incoming domain name transfers.

    What’s the address of the domain you are referring to? I assume that domain is registered elsewhere? (meaning not at WordPress.com).

    If so, then they will need to contact their registrar to move the ownership of the domain to you.

    After that you can map the domain to your WordPress.com blog by going to Store -> Domains on your blog’s dashboard: http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
