Hi, some time ago I noticed that my own website wouldn’t allow me access, it was impossible to modify etc. Somehow I managed to delete the account around Christmas time and patiently waited for my website to get deleted. But it’s still on. Somehow I was able to get into it again and delete again account and supposedly website altogether.
All this because I want to create a new website using my paid url. Please advise. Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You certainly didn’t delete your site and domain as it is up and running. However it is the baddest idea to delete a domain when you still want to use it; chances are high you loose your domain.

Subject: Unable to Delete Website & Reuse Paid URL

    Hi everyone,

A while ago, I noticed that I couldn’t access or modify my own website. After struggling with it, I managed to delete the account around Christmas, expecting the website to be removed.

However, the website is still online. I was able to regain access and attempted to delete the account and website again, but it seems like it hasn’t been fully removed.

My goal is to start fresh and create a new website using my paid URL.

Can anyone advise on the proper steps to ensure my website is fully deleted so I can reuse the domain?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Did you even read my answer?!  It is the baddest idea to delete a domain when you still want to use it; chances are high you loose your domain. Just clear your excisting site and you can start from zero.

    Hi there,

I’ve checked your account and could see that your site blueskyandlemons.com is still there and working. You can manage this site by logging into your WordPress.com account: https://wordpress.com/log-in/

Please note that you don’t need to delete a site or domain to start over. You can reset your site by following these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/reset-your-site/.

This will allow you to erase all existing content and restore WordPress to its default settings, effectively giving you a fresh start while retaining your subscription and domain.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with the reset process, feel free to let us know!

I feel like I’m going crazy – I’m not allowed to login, not with password nor with link to email, nor with form… and yes, the website is still on. Very frustrating!

    Hi @aitecch,

Are you seeing any specific error messages when trying to log in? If so, could you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing? That’ll help me figure out what’s going on and find the best fix for you.

    Looking forward to your reply!
