    Hi,
I will be much appreciated if anyone help me with this issue.
    Let`s go back to start:
I created website for the company I work for using wix.com and this site is active and online all the time but in meantime I started build brand new website with new content and store using WordPress. Now wordpress website is finish and complete also online too but I need to cancel and delete account and website from wix because domain is pointed to wix site and every time when i typing in internet browser my company name the only site appear is the one created in wix but i want to be visible online the one done in wordpress but the problem i have now is that I cannot cancel Premium services include subscriptions such as Premium Plan, domain, mailbox subscription, or app subscription.
My Premium services must expire before I can deactivate Wix account. Premium services expire at the end of subscription period in my case next year september 2019.
Please can anyone have an idea what I can do in this situation please?

    Hi there,

    I have a short and a long answer. 🙂

First, the short answer: you can use WordPress.com for your site right now. You will still have to pay for the Premium services at Wix until September 2019, unless they agree to refund you – you’d have to ask them directly (https://support.wix.com).

The standard process to transfer your site domain over to WordPress.com is explained here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

Note that if your domain uses the extension .ca, .fr, .uk, or co.uk, it can only be mapped: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/. We can help you better if you tell us the exact name for your domain. 🙂

    Now the longer answer.

    There are three things here:

    1. the domain name for the site you’re building (based on the last line of your post I assumed advicelifestyle.com, but I’m probably be wrong)
    2. the old CMS application used to create content on the site (in this case: Wix)
    3. the new CMS application used to create content on the site (in this case: WordPress.com)

Both Wix and WordPress.com have features allowing you to manage your domain name directly from their admin panel. From a user perspective, it looks like you’re buying one thing, but there are two services inside: the domain, and the CMS features (how the site will look, when to publish posts, the available widgets, menu, etc.).

Most CMS applications offering this approach will charge you the same price whether you’re buying your domain name through their plan, or through a dedicated domain name provider (like Go Daddy). WordPress.com does this, and I expect Wix to do the same – though I’m not certain.

When you decide to transfer your domain name from one CMS to another, the current CMS has to comply – unless they’re really evil of course. This means that you can decide at any moment to switch to WordPress.com (and that is what my short answer is about). The domain name will be released, and grabbed and managed by the new CMS you’ve chosen. But depending on your subscription plan with the old CMS, they might still decide to charge you until the end, even though they’re not managing anything anymore.

I hope this makes it clearer. That long wall of text was meant to explain that the CMS and the domain name are two different things. Your domain name is not a hostage of any subscription plan with a CMS, and as such can be transferred whenever you want. CMS applications just sometimes make you pay for leaving them. 🙂
