…I’ve been searching for the solution for this for hours and hours now, and I’ve gotten absolutely no where.
airodyssey: I’ve run across many of your answers in the forums here on WP and I still can’t make sense of any of it – seems like I’m running in circles.
My problem, like many trying this same thing before, is that the nameserver pointing that you’ve linked to above doesn’t do anything. I can follow those instructions, but I have nothing to type into the “Nameserver 1” and “Nameserver 2” boxes. I am trying to move my domain over from here (bought a custom domain and private registration through WP at gettingtheworld.com) to my blogger site (which is currently “gettingtheworld.blogspot.com”) Blogger does not provide any sort of info to place into those boxes, and my searches on this have yielded nothing.
I tried to cancel these services within the two day period but it did not work. I have emailed WP staff over and over again and no responses. I don’t really care if I have to keep paying WP as a domain host (though if someone could tell me what kind of cost that would be, I’m iffy on that too), but I just want my domain either redirected/mapped to my Blogger site, or have everything cancelled ASAP.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

Blogger does not provide nameservers.
You’ll need to follow this guide to map your domain to your Blogger blog: http://support.google.com/blogger/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1233381&page=ts.cs
The DNS rules can be entered into your Custom DNS panel: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/

thanks so much for your help macmanx
i’m afraid i’m still a tad confused on the syntax (particularly the”<subdomain>”, “<host>”) for this type of scenario – would you terribly mind seeing if i am entering this correct into the Custom DNS Record box (as per your link’s instructions)? My domain purchased through WP is gettingtheworld.com, and my Blogger domain is gettingtheworld.blogspot.com
CNAME gettingtheworld.com ghs.google.com
A gettingtheworld.com 216.239.32.21
A gettingtheworld.com 216.239.34.21
A gettingtheworld.com 216.239.36.21
A gettingtheworld.com 216.239.38.21 -

so i changed it to use “www”
now i get http://www.gettingtheworld.com redirecting (http://www.gettingtheworld.com as well)
but gettingtheworld.com is still no redirecting – any ideas?

Unfortunately, there is no way to do an A record map for the non-www portion here.
If that’s absolutely necessary, you might want to consider transferring your domain elsewhere.
