Transfer domain later

    Hello,

    I want to make a new website on WordPress with an existing domain. However, I do not want to transfer the domain just yet. Is there a way for me to get started on working with it without transferring the domain just yet?

    Hi there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
