transfer domain mapping upgrade to another domain

  We have an domain mapping upgrade for our educational nonprofit. Our Board decided to change the name and domain of the nonprofit. I was wondering if I may transfer the domain mapping upgrade from sensoryfriendly.org to the blog learningsociallynet.wordpress.com that has a domain already pointing to it, learningsocially.net. I already changed the name servers for the learningsocially.net in GoDaddy to the three of WordPress.com
  I tried to do this myself but I couldn’t. Thanks so much for your help.

  Hi Jeannie,

  After looking into your account, I found that you have already added the domain mapping upgrade for: learningsocially.net and found that it was working! It is currently set as the primary domain, so all the other domains will redirect to that one.

  Thank you Grace. I wondered if I could take the domain mapping upgrade off of the domain “sensoryfriendly.org” and transfer that domain mapping upgrade to my domain “learningsocially.net” that already has a blog learningsociallynet.wordpress.com
  Is this possible? Thank you so much.

  Hi Jeannie,

  I’m not quite sure what you mean. The domain mapping (sensoryfriendly.org) was purchased in August of 2013. The refund period (30 days) has ended so I wouldn’t be able to transfer this domain mapping to learningsocially.net. If you would like me to remove the mapping for sensoryfriendly.org from the blog ahead of time, I can do that for you if you like.

  Thank you so much Gracie. I’m sorry for the delay- just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary!
  Please leave the sensoryfriendly.org mapping as is and I’ll allow it to expire in its time. May I please ask you to do one thing though?
  Please delete the blog “howtoread.pro” and that domain info from my account listing. I am going to gift this domain to another terrific teacher.

  Hi, Grace, Thank you so much for your wonderful help. I will be offering the domain “howtoread.pro” to other teachers in our primary school because the original teacher decided against a blog.
  I’m putting out emails to teachers I think may be interested but I really can’t predict the direction they’ll take even if they want my gifted domain.
  I’m sorry to keep this thread open so long, but I just haven’t found a teacher locally who feels “up to” beginning a blog with a custom domain. Most of these dedicated teachers in our south Georgia area don’t know what I’m even offering them!!
  If there was a way to connect with teachers within WordPress.com, I’d love to learn about that method! Although I’m not new to WordPress, I am new to reaching out to others via this network.

  Hi Jeannie!

  No worries about keeping the thread open! There isn’t a time limit. I found that the domain: howtoread.pro while mapped to us, is registered elsewhere as seen here:

  http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=howtoread.pro

  I can definitely transfer the domain mapping to another account, but if you want to completely give up the domain, it would be best to update the domain contact information at your registrar.

  As for connecting with other teachers, you can search for tags on WordPress.com on the right hand side like Education, Teacher, Teaching, etc, and blog posts with those tags will appear. If you go through those and find blogs you like, you can follow them. I’ve seen a great community of teacher bloggers here on WordPress.com. I’ll send you a private list of teacher-related blogs that I think you might love!
