Transfer domain name

    Hello !

    I have a website on Wix but I want to begin to build up my new website on WordPress now. When everything will be ready, I want to transfer my domain name from Wix to my new built website on WP. Is it possible ?
    So can I take a first-year free plan to start and change the domain name later with the one I’m using with Wix ?

    Hi there!

    Yes, you can start with a free plan and use the free subdomain (ending with .wordpress.com) and only bring in your custom domain when you’re ready to launch.

    You will be able to map it – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related.

    Or transfer the domain to WordPress.com and we’ll be your new registrar. This way you’ll manage everything from one place and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :)
