Transfer Domain Name after deleting wordpress site

  Hello, after purchasing a domain name through wordpress and after waiting the 60 days I decided to transfer my domain name following the steps listed on wordpress site. This involved the auth code and after receiving the auth code I deleted my site on WordPress. Once submitting the auth code I was sent an email that stated the transfer was denied. Now on my wordpress account it’s saying that I don’t have a domain name at all and that it is hosted on Wild West Domains. Should I have a Wild West account? Open to any suggestions, my domain seems to be in limbo at the moment. Cheers!

  Hi there,

  Is this for the domain, jordanhalsall.com?

  Before you deleted your site you cancelled that domain. When you cancelled that domain you immediately stopped being its owner. You cannot transfer what you don’t own.

  Luckily it appears the cancellation wasn’t properly completed, so I should still be able to restore your domain.

  Please create a new free site at the following link:

  https://wordpress.com/start/site/

  You need to have a site in your account in order to access the domain’s settings, so you need to do this before I can attempt to restore the domain. Once the domain is successfully restored, you should then be able to restart the transfer process.

  Ahhh I see, thanks so much for explaining that to me.

  Thank you so much for helping me out, I have started a new site, and hope the domain can be restored onto it.

  Right. I’ve restored the domain to your site and it looks like everything is still working.

  Please go to My Site ->Domains ->Transfer and start the transfer process again. The transfer code should be the same, but resend it just to be sure. Then give it to your new registrar and don’t do anything else to the site here until they confirm that the transfer has been completed. It typically takes around a week, but varies from one registrar to the next.
