transfer domain name from wordpress.com

  Hi there, apologies first of all but I am quite new to word press. In my haste to develop my site I 1st registered a wordpress.com blog after which i bought a domain through wordpress with the same name as my blog to give it a more professional feel.

  I then realized that I needed a wordpress.org installation on my host to customize my themes the way I wanted them so went ahead and installed it on my host with my domain name.

  I now have issues trying to log into that account as everytime I do using the username & password for my wordpress.org installation, I am still directed to the wordpress.com version.

  Once again apologies for this trivial question but I would really appreciate been pointed in the right direction.

  Hi there,

  If you’re trying to point your domain name to your self-hosted WordPress.org installation, you’ll need to change your name servers:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  You can obtain the proper name server values from your new hosting provider.
