Transfer domain name to WordPress

    Hello,

I recently ‘connected’ my real domain name to my wordpress account, by pointing the nameservers to WordPress and ordering the domain on WordPress.

However, this made email forwarding more complicated on my end. To simplify things, I would like to completely move the domain name over to WordPress as a domain registrar: then everything is in one location (instead of three at the moment).

I can find how to register a new domain name, but I can not find how to transfer an existing domain name from a current registrar over to WordPress. Especially if I have already ‘connected’ this domain name. Is it possible to do this from the Dashboard? Or do I need to contact support – and will they be able to handle this then, or is it simply not possible (and only available for new domain names)?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi. According to this, you can’t transfer a domain name registration to WordPress.com:

However, you can still purchase domain mapping from WordPress.com.

In addition, you can set up custom DNS records for your email or use Google Apps for that purpose:

Okay I see… too bad, that would have been simpler.

I already have the mapping, so I guess I’ll just check out Google Apps so I don’t need a separate server just for the email forwarding.
