Transfer domain or domain mapping

    I have a domain name only registration which renewed in April and costs me £23.51 per year. What will it cost to transfer the domain to WordPress or will it be cheaper to just do domain mapping?

    Hi there,

    To either transfer or map the domain to us will require you to upgrade to a paid plan. The cheapest is the Personal Plan at £36 a year.

    To them map your domain doesn’t cost anything extra, so you’d be paying £36 a year to us, and whatever the renewal cost is at your current provider next time the domain must be renewed.

    To transfer your domain to us also doesn’t cost anything extra on top of the plan, and it will also renew the domain for another year, so the next renewal will only be due in 2022. At that point the renewal will be a separate cost in addition to the plan cost, but how much will depend on the domain extension you want to transfer to us.

    Note that it’s not currently possible to transfer .uk domains to us, even though we are an accredited registrar for those.
