Transfer Domain Registrar

  Domain Name: http://www.christopherkokoski.com
  Registrar: (I bought through WordPress.com via WildWestDomains.com). i
  Host: Bluehost
  Platform: My website is with WordPress.org

  My Goal: I want to transfer Domain Name Registrars from WordPress.com to Domain.com.

  My Challenge: I cannot locate my paid domain name on WordPress (so I can’t transfer/redirect or find my EPP – I think that’s what it’s called, or a transfer code). I have contacted support several times and they have sent links to web post tutorials. I’m afraid the tutorials did not help in my instance so I’m hoping to find more help than a link. I contacted WildWestDomains.com but they said they are just the facilitator and that I must seek help with WordPress.com.

  Hi there,

  The domain is under a different WordPress.com account than the one you are contacting us from. In order to begin the transfer process, you’ll need to log into the account connected to the domain. Then, you can being the process of transferring the site as instructed on our support page:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/

  Thank you for the quick response!

  Question, this is a very old (several years ago) account. I have no idea what other account I may have – is there a recommended way to find out what it might be? Because I have no idea.

  FYI, in case it’s helpful, my current active website is with WordPress.org. But I’m thinking that is a completely separate thing?

  It would be under the email address that the domain renewal emails are sent to.

  If you don’t recall the password, we have some recommendations at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

  Yes, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  But, with that said, we are the registrar on this domain, and you can use a domain registered with WordPress.com anywhere.
