Transfer domain to another registra

  Hello,

  Does anyone know how to transfer the domain “purchased” at wp.com to another registra (asmallorange, bluehost, etc.), like when you move to self-hosted but still want to use the same address ? Do I have that option in wp policy, or am i limited to changing the nameserver only ? Didn’t see anything on the FAQ for that seemingly common process. Or maybe i’m just an idiot.

  This process transfers the domain name to another registrar.

  First, go to the registrar that you are moving to.
  You need to start the process there. You will be asked for a ‘Authorization Code’ or an ‘EPP code’

  In your blog here, go to Options > Domains
  Login to your domain control panel

  There is a ‘Auth Code’ link.
  Click that and confirm you want the code emailed to you.

  Note: The code has a time limit. So when you get it, don’t wait to use it or you have to do all the above again.

  Enter the Auth Code at the new registar.
  Soon after that the new registrar should email you to confirm the successful transfer of the domain. This means that they are the place to go for renewing your domain and managing the nameservers.
