Transfer domain to WordPress

    I am interested in having a WP site hosted on wordpress.com using an existing domain I have with another provider. How might I transfer that domain to be managed by your name servers?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    All you need to do is map the domain to your WordPress.com account by following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

    Thanks, but that doesn’t precisely answer my question. I don’t want to merely map my domain, but before or when my domain expires on the other host, I want wordpress.com to host the domain so I don’t have to deal with that other provider anymore. Does that make sense?

    As per my understanding to your question you want to move your domain to wordpress.com(domain transfer from one domain provider to another), but wordpress.com didnt provide domain registration fecility , you need to register your domain to some other domain provider and point that domain to wordpress blog. hope i am getting your point.

    Thanks for the follow up bryankane! The only way to do this would be to let your domain expire or cancel it with the current registrar and then re-register it with us. This is not ideal and I do not recommend this route because you are potentially forfeiting ownership of the domain if someone else were to register it before you got to it.

    There is not a set time or notifications that come from the registrar for this situation. The only option is to try and register it daily from WordPress.com. Domain mapping would be the safer option.
