Transfer domain to wordpress

  I would like to upgrade my account to use my own domain that I already own. Is it possible to transfer my domain from my current registrar to wordpress? I’m not referring to pointing it to my wordpress page. I want it fully integrated into my premium plan.

  I’m afraid not. WordPress.com currently don’t support incoming domain transfers. If you purchased a Domain name elsewhere then keeping it where it is and mapping it here is the only way.

  Hi @themagicrobot, I am looking for the same thing over an year now..
  Can you please tell us why is it not possible?

  I am asking because it is possible to register a new domain on WordPress.com and transfer it out but not in..
  I am curious about this and it’s the only thing stopping me from upgrading and I would say a lot of other people too, who already own the domain they wish to use.

  I agree that it is more convenient to have everything under the same umbrella. If you purchase a new custom domain along with an upgraded plan here then everything is straight-forward. However, if you have had a domain name for a long time that you wish to continue with, whilst taking advantage of the easy-to-use WordPress.com, then you have to pay two separate companies. I have put your question to staff elsewhere just in case this is something that might change in the future.
