Transfer domain to wordpress?

  I bought a business that has an existing website built on Magento 1. Support was discontinued 6/30/2020 and everything I’ve read or been told leads me to believe that a WordPress site with Woo Commerce is probably the way to go, but can I build my new site while the old one is still up & does transferring the domain to WordPress have any negative consequences?

  Hi there, you can definitely get your new site up and running on a temporary subdomain. You’ll still need a Business or eCommerce Plan, but just opt for a free subdomain in setup. Then you can add your real domain later.

  Or, you can go ahead and initiate the domain transfer, but keep the domain pointing to the old host until you’re ready.
