Transfer domain to WordPress.com

  I have a domain registered at a site I am not using. I would like to transfer it to WordPress and use it for my blog. How might I accomplish this?

  You can’t transfer a domain name to WordPress.COM, they are not equipped to accept incoming transfers. You want to map the domain name:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  We are not going to renew the site where the domain is registered. I don’t know much about domains. Where can I transfer the domain so I still have it so i can map it?

  Several people I know use Name Cheap for domain registration, they will accept incoming transfers. There are also many other Registrars and most hosts will also register a domain name that is not used on a site that is hosted with them.
