Transfer Email from my main domain to WordPress
-
I have looked at the advice pages and it doesnt make sense. How can I upgrade my wordpress DNS so that my email works
Here is the detail from Network Solutions. The domain name is http://www.businesscopilot.co.uk
MX Record BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK. 10 INBOUND.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
CNAME Record MAIL.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK. MAIL.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
CNAME Record SMTP.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK. SMTP.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK.NETSOLMAIL.NET.How on earth do I configure this to set the MX and CNAME text on WP? The instructions on the help page are woeful.
Thanks

Basically, you need to add exactly what you have there to your Custom DNS panel: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/
Unfortunately, we can’t provide support for all email providers, so you may find it easier to go with Google Apps for Domains instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/

Hi,
Sorry but pointing me back to the page which I have already said does not work is really not very helpful.
If I paste it in as you have said the on the valudate without saving panel it rejects it but gives no idea as to what is acceptable. So I have to wait maybe 24 hrs to find out that I have it wrong.
What does this mean??
MX <pref> <host>
TXT <text>
CNAME <subdomain> <host>
A <subdomain> <IP>is the <pref> = to 10
What is the subdomain in CNAME?Please help as this is my business

Yeah, that’s where it comes down to not being able to support all email providers.
Try the following:
MX 10 BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK.
CNAME MAIL MAIL.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
CNAME SMTP SMTP.BUSINESSCOPILOT.CO.UK.NETSOLMAIL.NET.If that doesn’t work, you may need to give Google Apps for Domains a shot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
