Transfer expired domain

    I just saw that my domain has expired through wordpress.com and would have to pay an additional $80 fee to get it renewed. I would like to keep the domain but transfer it to namecheap.com. What steps do I need to take to get an EPP code for an expired domain? Or would I have to purchase a new domain from namecheap.com in order for my site to remain active?

    I’m sorry to say that once a domain has gone into the redemption period, it cannot be transferred without paying the late fee. So your choices would be to either pay or choose a new domain at namecheap.com.
