transfer expired domain to wordpress.org

  Hi,

  My domain name has expired and I do not wish to renew it.I would like to transfer all my content to wordpress.org,with a new domain name.So my question is simple: can I do it even if the domain is already expired?And if yes, how can I do that?

  Transferring your blog content (themes and text widget content cannot be exported but all else can be) is done by export and import. Log into the WordPress.com blog, go to Tools → Export, and download the XML (WXR) file to your computer. Then import it onto the WordPress.org install.
