Transfer followers

  I renamed by blog from foreverahomebody.wordpress.com to FromTajiWithLove.wordpress.com. I had the issue of getting notifcations saying someone started following my original blog and read that I would need to transfer my followers from foreverahomebody.wordpress.com to FromTajiWithLove.wordpress.com. I plan on upgrading and buying my domain name as FromTajiWithLove.come soon. Should I get the domain name first and then transfer my followers, or does it matter?

  Hi @fromtajiwithlove, we can help you move them over. Can you let us know as soon as new follows to the old site die down? We’ll transfer them over then.

  In the meantime I do recommend adding a redirect on the old site that will send folks to the new one:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/

  About the custom domain: if you add it to this existing site, it will be pretty seamless.
