Transfer followers

  I’m suddenly unable to transfer followers from my old WordPress site to my current domain.

  Hi Darnell,

  When I push on the button to transfer followers, nothing happens. I get no message asking me if I’m sure I want to proceed; it’s like the whole process simply dies.

  It worked perfectly up until now. I did refer to the instructions on the support page to see if the steps had changed, but don’t see where I am doing anything differently.

  I regularly transfer new followers from the wordpress blog jadicampbell.wordpress.com to my current domain jadicampbell.com

  Ideally, I’d love to have new followers for the old site simply land on the current jadicampbell.com

  Hi Jadi,

  How often do you transfer followers? That process is designed to transfer your followers once when you migrate your site. It has a failsafe built-in to prevent abuse.

  If you want people that land on your old site to follow your new site I suggest putting up a post in the old site notifying them of your new address.

  I have put up posts on the old site, inserted notices in the old posts, etc. I transfer followers about once a week as so many people are still following the old site.

  Since there are still people following your old site you have two options.

  1. Redirect your old site to your new one. This is a paid upgrade and it will automatically redirect anyone that visits jadicampbell.wordpress.com to jadicampbell.com. You can learn more here:

  2. Set up a static page on your site with a notice that your site has moved. Here’s how to do that:
