transfer from .com to .org. los of links
-
I recently moved my blog from toddhargrove.wordpress.com to bettermovement.org. To do that I transferred my content to the new site and purchased the $12 site redirect service to preserve existing links and google juice.
All seemed to work well except one thing.
My top post was called the “the SAID Principle” and it ranked in google’s top three on a search for that term. After the transfer, the old permalink remained as a top three result, but a click on it sends the user to the 404 whoops page on the new blog. This does not seem to happen with any of my other posts.
The apparent reason is that the address for the SAID principle post on my new site is different from the address the old one redirects to.
The redirect address which results in a whoops page is http://bettermovement.org/2009/01/10/111/
The permalink for the post on the new site is http://www.bettermovement.org/2009/0110111/
I tried to change the new permalink to be the same as the redact address but it won’t let me do that.
The result is that now the said principle is not ranked at all and I have lost my best source of referrals. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. To my knowledge, the site redirect upgrade only works if the permalink structure on the destination site (your WordPress.org install) is the same as the original site (your old WordPress.com site). You can’t change that on WordPress.com’s end, only on WordPress.org’s. To solve this, you’ll need to ask at http://wordpress.org/support/

In the new .ORG site under settings > permalinks, you want to select “Day and name” as the permalink structure. That is the structure used at wordpress.COM.
