Transfer from Shopify

  I am looking to migrate from Shopify. I want to keep my Shopify site (my domain) in place until complete setup in WordPress. I’m signing up and it’s asking for my domain.
  Do I give my current in use domain? Will it be automatically migrate? I anticipate it taking a few weeks to get my catalog copied over so I want to make sure I can set it up without my current domain. Hope I described this properly.

  Hi there!

  You can work on your site using the free .wordpress.com subdomain and only map or transfer your custom domain once you’re ready.
  So when creating your site and selecting your plan, make sure you choose the free version of the domain.

  Once your site is ready to go live, you’ll be able to map the domain:

  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Or transfer it:

  https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
