Transfer from Wix.

I currently have this site that I’ve been using for comics I publish and sell – it is setup on Wix.com.
My problem is that while using the site is super easy and all, the e-commerce part of it is very limited and troublesome to deal with – their options are severely limited (especially as I am based in India and not the U.S/Europe) and they seem to have gotten more limited to just PayPal which is giving me a lot of trouble.
I would prefer to migrate the site, domain and all over to WordPress and setup my store-front and payment options through the great apps and system flexibility WP gives me.
However, I have found only relatively limited and a tad complicated instruction on migrating a site – if you guys can help me out with a comprehensive migration plan for both domain and site, would be eternally grateful!

Thank you so much for all your help – appreciate it. I will look at the links you’ve sent as so far I only found online articles that gave very roundabout ways of transferring things.
I’m assuming however that this does not cover the transfer of the web-domain, which I would like to move over as well.
Also, I’m assuming this is transferring over to wordpress.org and not wordpress.com, since I would need to be able to host the products/etc? Or is that also viable on wp.com?
