Transfer from WIX & Google Suite

    I purchased domain and thought I transferred it to WIX for hosting. I’ve been paying both G Suite and WIX for my .com. G Suite has recently raised their price. I haven’t been happy with my WIX layout since I started it. I have had the WordPress free plan but haven’t published it. I want to transfer it over to WordPress but have some questions. I would really like to talk to a live person to ask a few billing question.

    1. Is WordPress and affiliate of G Suite?

    2. If I transfer to WordPress, will I still have to pay G Suite for my domain?

    I ask these questions, because when I transferred to WIX I thought I would only be paying WIX, but continued being charged from G Suite. I really want everything under one billing.

    First, to clear up one common question before it causes any confusion, WordPress is free code and WordPress.com is a hosting company. We manage the WordPress installations hosted here with us:

    We can resell Google Workspaces accounts, but I don’t think Google is able to transfer your account from one reseller to another, or even from their account to ours.

    Thank you for reaching out. I want to know more about upgrading my current free WordPress account to WordPress.com Pro ($15 per month), using my current domain, what would my billing fees entail? I’m trying to figure out if I would have to maintain the Google domain and google workspace for my email. Would WordPress.com just be the host? I have one domain and one email and I would like the option to blog, sell PDF’s and occasionally sell tangible goods in an online shop. I would love to schedule a time for a phone call, if possible. I think a 10-20 min call would be easier for me to ask the questions I have regarding transferring. Please let me know if that is an option for you. I am typically available 10-5 pacific time.

    what would my billing fees entail?

    The Pro plan includes 1 year of your domain for free: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    Future renewals of the domain will be priced at what’s listed here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/

    So, assuming it’s a .com domain, that would be $180 for the first year, and $198 for the second year.

    You could keep the domain with Google and connect it instead: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

    That will be free under the Pro plan, so just $180 each year.

    Would WordPress.com just be the host?

    We are a fully hosted service, so once you have your site with us, you are hosted with us, even under our Free plan.
