You want to get paid for your reviews or pimping for places or other sites, put ads on a site – or other violations of the Terms of Service.

Maybe one wants the added freedom of plugins and tens of thousands of themes to choose from.
Maybe one wants to do advertising.
Maybe the direction that one wants to take their blog will violate the terms of service here.
The list goes on.

Morning @thesacredpath
Also good points you made.
My needs for my site are pretty basic so I forget about the Plug-in’s thing and am quite thrilled that we have all those super Widgets here that I don’t need to think much about.

The primary reason bloggers move their content to a WordPress.org install is so they can make money from advertising. In fact few make any more than what’s required for their domain costs and web hosting costs.
The second most prevalent reason bloggers choose to move their content to a wordpress.org install is so they have complete control over their site and can hack the template and edit the theme.
One can choose the do-it-yourself approach to making the move > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/11/06/setting-up-a-self-hosted-wordpress-org-install/
One can pay Staff to make the move > http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/03/11/guided-transfers/
