transfer GoDaddy domain to WP with no site
-
I have another two domain names at GoDaddy I want to transfer to WordPress hosting, but I don’t want to build sites for them now. I already have the authorization codes. How do I transfer without building a site?
Thank you.

Thank you, but I don’t know how to use HTML on WordPress, nor where I would use it since I want this to happen without building websites for these two domain names.

Hello there,
It’s possible to transfer the domain as per: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
To check, with the site built – has this been made with HTML, and you’re looking to move this to WordPress.com?

I’m sorry if my previous emails were unclear. The two domain names I want to transfer from GoDaddy to WordPress don’t have websites in either place, and I don’t wish to set up websites right now in WordPress. I just want to keep the domains, but not have GoDaddy as a host any longer.
I have the authorization codes from GoDaddy, but when I try to follow the instructions below I get stuck because they assume I am transferring to site, and I am not.
2. Next, decide which site you wish to transfer your domain to:
To add a domain to the existing site you’re working on, click Add a domain to this site.
To add a domain to a brand new site, click Other domain options, then select Add a domain to a new site.
To add a domain to another site in your account, click Other domain options, then select Add a domain to a different site. How can I transfer the domain names to WordPress without setting up websites?
If that isn’t possible, can I have them as subdomains at one of my existing websites, but with no content?
Thank you again for your help.

Hi,
Because WordPress.com is not a registrar in the traditional sense, it isn’t really possible to have domains registered here without being connected to a site.
You could try setting up an empty placeholder site and seeing if the system lets you transfer the domain. But I am fairly sure that it will prompt you to purchase a plan in order to do so.
As much as we appreciate you wanting to be a customer, you might be better off moving to a different registrar for domains you aren’t currently using. I personally have been pleased with google domains.
