  How do I transfer my hosting from WP free hosting to another hosting service?

  Please…how do I transfer http://beadingbydesign.wordpress.com to another hosting company. I own http://www.beadingbydesign.com and want to host the blog elsewhere as http://www.beadingbydesign.com/blog. I will continue continue my blog with WordPress – I just want to control the hosting somewhere else.

  Does that make sense?

  It looks like I need to first purchase self-hosting WordPress.org software for appropriate web hosting with my own WordPress.org blog/site up and running before I can transfer it.

  You don’t need to purchase WordPress. You just go to http://wordpress.org and download it. Then you get some web hosting and upload the WordPress software into it. Many hosts will have a WordPress setup you can use already installed. Ask around.

  Yes, the other site has to exist before you can import your blog to it.

  Also, if you have no experience with setting up a hosted site, and all the stuff that goes with that, you might be interested in the new service provided at wordpress.COM where they actually move and set up everything for you for a fee of $99. As someone who does this sort of thing for a living, the $99 is a very fair price.
