Transfer Issues
-
I wanted to transfer my domain name I bought from another provider (threadsgreek.com), to WordPress, I chose the option transfer an already existed domain, but I got threadsgreek.wordpress.com instead of threadsgreek.com.
The reason I wanted transfer is that I want to have access to more features via WordPress, like additional plugins and such. Did I messed things up? If yes is it possible to issue a refund for my purchase?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For the moment, your site is still at Hostinger – https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/https://threadsgreek.com
If you want to use your custom domain on the wordpress.com platform, you need a paid plan. As you want to use plugins, you need the Business Plan.

Hi there, @nstefanop! I’ll be happy to assist with this 🙂
So to clarify, you didn’t mess anything up! I see that you’re already on a paid plan so you are able to move forward with the domain transfer. The reason you’re seeing the threadsgreek.wordpress.com domain is because all WordPress.com sites come with a free
*.wordpress.comdomain which cannot be removed, but once you have your threadsgreek.com domain transferred and set as the “Primary Address” this free domain will automatically 301 Redirect to the Primary Address.I would recommend reviewing this documentation to learn how to complete the domain transfer, and once this has been completed you can follow this guide to learn how to set the Primary Address for your site.
Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns and we will be more than happy to assist you! 🙂
