Transfer my blog to another WP user

  I am following directions to transfer my site ‘dhstheafterparty’ to another WP user ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). It says I ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) will get an email confirmation but it never comes? Does it take time?

  Sorry for the delay! Since your site has a custom domain, we just need to confirm whether you want to transfer just the site or the site plus all of its upgrades (including the domain).

  Just to confirm, this is the site you want to transfer:
  dhstheafterparty.wordpress.com

  This site also has the following upgrades:

  • Domain mapping for dhstheafterparty.com (not registered at WordPress.com)
  • Custom Design
  • Domain essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com (registered at WordPress.com)

  Do you want to transfer ownership of all of those upgrades along with the site?

  (Please note that if we transfer the domain essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com, then the new owner will have to update the contact information in order for the domain to be in compliance with ICANN regulations. Until the new user does this, we will still have your contact information on record and you will be responsible for the domain. I need you to confirm that you understand this before we can continue.)

  Hi, WOW! Thanks for the quick reply :) Love it!
  Yes, I want to transfer everything, including all the content.

  However, you mentioned the essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com, which was a mistake site I deleted last night. The only active site is the DHS TheAfterParty.

  Once transfered I will make sure to get all the contact info updated. For now it will still be me, but I have someone who will be working with me who eventually will take it over and update it.

  Hi Peggy,

  Great! Before I transfer the site, though, I just need to figure out what you’d like to do with that domain essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com. The site you were using it with was deleted, but you still own the domain name itself (in case you wanted to use it with a different site). Do you want me to cancel that domain name for you, or do you want to keep it in case you want to use it again later on?

  (Just to clarify, when you own a domain name at WordPress.com it has to be linked to a site you own. Right now, essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com is linked to your dhstheafterparty.com site. But if you don’t want that first domain at all anymore, I can cancel it now for you before I transfer the DHS site to its new owner.)

  Hi Rachel,

  Yes, Essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com should be deleted. It was something we tried but never was used.

  Any idea how quickly this can be transfered? Thanks – Peggy

  Thanks for confirming that. I canceled the domain Essencepilatesbiggestloser2014.com for you and transferred the site dhstheafterparty.com (and its upgrades and content) over to the new owner. All done! :) You’re still an administrator on the site, so you can still manage the site until the new owner takes it over.

  Just let me know if I can do anything more to help!
