Transfer my domain or connect my domain

    Are they talking about my website? If yes, then which one is best for me: to transfer or connect? If it is not my whole website, then what are they talking about? I like my website, and now know how to work with it, it’s on Wix.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there,

    I’m assuming you’re using a custom domain.

    If you purchased this custom domain from a third party domain registrar, you would go with “Connecting a Domain”.

    If you purchased this custom domain from Wix itself, and is planning to use WordPress.com from now on, I would recommend you go with “Domain Transfer”.

    Once you’ve your domain handled, you can follow the page “Import from Wix”:

    Hi!

    It looks like you created a site on WordPress.com and upgraded it to plan Premium. Now you can transfer or connect your custom domain, as stevenlinx explained above.

    The question is, what are your plans for this website? It looks like you did not plan on changing anything about the one in Wix and, if you do want to keep it as is, there’s no point in moving the domain away.
    If you’d like to create a new site, independent of the one at Wix, you can register a completely new domain. It’s free for the first year with your plan.
