Transfer of a wordpress.com site to a wordpress.org site

My web designer has already created me a new wordpress.org site using studio press
It it possible for one of your happiness engineers to transfer the content from my existing wordpress.com blog site to this new site? I don’t need to have the ‘full service’ you describe ie the self hosting and website set up.
If so how do I arrange to have you do this and how much will it be
I have tried to do it myself with some success, all the text comes over but the images are not formatted correctly and not in the media library for each post
I would really appreciate your guidance!

You can export your content from the Tools section of your blog’s Dashboard.
If you’re having trouble with the import, I recommend contacting the folks at http://wordpress.org/support/
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
