Transfer of administrator rights and web-address between 2 wordpress.com blogs

    Hello,

I opened a few days ago a blog (lartedimanu.wordpress.com) for my wife. Now I want to
    1. transfer the administrator rights to her and to her wordpress account (user: internosette / same as another blog made by her). I changed the e-mail address from mine to hers under General settings, but this doesn’t allow to her to administrate the site. There are tools to invite editors and supporters, but unfortunately we can’t find a function to change administrator.
    2. we want to transfer the actual pages, layout, contents, posts, menu, etc. of the “lartedimanu.wordpres.com” blog to the “internosette.wordpress.com” web-address (opened by my wife), substituting totally the content of this second blog. We exported the XML file from “lartedimanu.wordpress.com” and imported it to “internosette.wordpress.com”, but strangely the old skin of internosette remains the same and – although we find all pages and the menu set up under the administartor’s dashboard – the blog gives the following answer “Page not found” (in the page header) and “some problems? It seems you’ve got some problems, Sure that you didn’t get lost? Maybe you’re lookign for something that doesn’t exist? Anyway, keep on searching…” What does that mean? What do we have to do?

    Thanks for an urgent answer!

    Best regards

  • Howdy!

    • You can transfer the blog ownership to your wife’s WordPress.com account with the steps here:

      http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

If you want to be a user on her blog, she can add your username as a user in Users -> Invite New from the blog dashboard.

As for the blog administrator email address in General Settings, that’s used for comment notification and moderating comments, Likes received on posts for a single–user blog, and new blog followers from WordPress.com users (as long as the appropriate settings are checked in Settings -> Discussion).

      http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/

    • Moving the content between two WordPress.com blogs won’t include the theme, widgets, or custom menu(s), so you’ll need to set those up by hand at internosette.wordpress.com.

Also, the error you’re currently seeing at internosette.wordpress.com is because the Reading Settings at lartedimanu.wordpress.com is configured to display a static page, while Reading Settings at internosette.wordpress.com currently doesn’t have a front page configured.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
