Transfer of domain

  I have a static website on a domain with another host. I want to now rebuild my site to give it a different look and feel using a more flexible design tool. So at this point, I do not want to make the decision to transfer domain until I feel comfortable with the design tool.

  Hi there,

  That is not an issue – what you could do is create and begin playing with a site on WordPress.com. You are assigned a .wordpress.com subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. Once you are certain, then, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over to the site:
