Transfer of domain name

  Hi, Unfortunately, I have made a mistake in purchasing a premium wordpress.com package and would like to cancel and have a refund. I understand that I will not get a refund for the domain name. My query is will I be able to transfer my domain name to my self-hosted website? Many thanks

  You can absolutely use your custom domain with a self hosted site. ICANN regulations put a lock on transferring a domain to another registrar for 60 days after they are purchased, so you won’t be able to transfer the domain right away, but we can help you make sure you get your domain working with your self hosted site by adjusting your DNS settings.

  You are able to cancel your premium plan yourself, or I can do it for you.

  Let me know which you prefer and we’ll proceed from there.

  Thanks very much for your reply. That’s great news that I can redirect the domain name to my self-hosted site and many thanks for offering to help guide me in this.

  It would be great if you would kindly cancel the plan for me. Am I right in thinking that this will mean that the plan will disappear from my account, but the domain name will remain?

  That is exactly right. I will also send you a refund for the Premium plan purchase less the cost of the domain.
