Transfer of domain to another registrat

    I transferred my domain cinixar.com from GoDaddy to WordPress and now I want to transfer it back to Godaddy as I made a mistake of not understanding what’s happening… now however, WordPress is saying my domain is locked until May 2024.. I cannot let that be locked until then…

    Hi there,

    When a domain is transferred between registrars, it is automatically locked for 60 days. This is a policy imposed by ICANN, the organization responsible for managing domain names on the internet.

    If your goal is to use your domain with a site hosted by GoDaddy, you can still do so by pointing your domain’s name servers to GoDaddy. This doesn’t move the domain itself but allows you to use it with GoDaddy’s hosting services. You can follow this guide to change your domain’s name servers: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/

    Once the 60-day period has passed and the lock is lifted, you’ll be able to transfer your domain to any registrar of your choice, including GoDaddy.
