Transfer of domain /Transfert de domaine

    Bonjour,
    j’essaie de transférer mon nom de domaine depuis 1&1 jusqu’à wordpress.com. Pour l’instant, j’ai une adresse sous cette forme: monnom.wordpress.com et j’aimerais avoir monnom.com. Pour ce faire, 1&1 (à qui je paye mon nom de domaine) m’a donné un code attaché à ce nom de domaine à fournir à wordpress pour faire le transfert. Mais quelles sont les démarches pour faire ce transfert auprès de WordPress?

    I want to transfer my domain name fron 1&1 to WordPress.com. For now, the address of my wordpress site is myname.wordpress.com and I would like to have myname.com. For that, 1&1 (to whom I pay my domain name) gave me a code number attached with that domain name that I have to provide to WordPress. But what do I have to do to be able to make that transfer effective with wordpress?

    Hello, you can purchase the domain mapping upgrade so that you can connect your domain to your WordPress.com site because currently, WordPress.com doesn’t accept domain transfers.

    I’ve done that. I haven’t yet received any confirmation of purchase though. And, do you know if I will be able to cancel my domain name at 1&1? Or I will have two fees to pay (1&1 = wordpress mapping)?

    If the purchase went through, it will show on your Billing History here https://wordpress.com/me/billing where you can view the web receipt and email receipt. If you haven’t received confirmation in your email regarding the purchase, try checking your spam/junk/bulk folders or any other folders that you have where the email may have wandered to. The email would have come from help(at)wordpress(dot)com.

    Yes you can according to their support page here: https://help.1and1.com/account-and-billing-c65577/account-details-c65578/cancel-a-domain-andor-additional-items-from-your-package-a645157.html

    But if you’d like to connect your domain purchased at 1&1 to your WordPress.com site then please don’t cancel it.

    Yes you will. The fee for your domain at 1&1 which is paid directly to them and the fee for the domain mapping upgrade which is $13 per blog per year which is paid directly to WordPress.com

    Your domain – paid to 1&1
    Domain mapping – paid to WordPress.com

    Note that we don’t know when your domain at 1&1 will renew or expire so it’s best to check with them how you schedule your payments for your domain (example: monthly, annually, etc.).
