Transfer of financial responsibility for the site /upgrades etc.

    I am working for a group and have been asked to update and amend the current site. The previous person who did this job has named me as one of two site administrators the problem is that she no longer wants to pay for the domains and upgrades and would like me to take on that responsibility which I am happy to do. We are not sure how to do this can you please give me some instuctions as the site needs renewal soon.

    Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account. You must contact that person. They will have to add the other username account(s) ie. yours as Admin to the blog you want to be transferred to you, and then they must use the process to transfer the blog to your username account.

    The owner of the site can follow these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account to transfer ownership of the site to you.

    In doing so, Staff can then assign all upgrades to your account and you’ll be the one responsible for the site moving forward.

    Hi Sue – Can you have the admin who owns the upgrades log into their account and reply to this thread confirming that I should transfer all upgrades to your account (please confirm the blog that the upgrades are on)?

    She should understand that if I transfer a domain to you, you will then own the domain and she will no longer have control over it.

    If she’s not going to be involved with the site anymore, she should also confirm that I should transfer ownership of the site itself to you. :)

    Hi Eurello I am angierogers the current site owner of the blog hebdenbridgeopensstudios.org and I confirm that yes I do want you to transfer ownership of the the blog site from me to suegunn. Yes I also want you to transfer the upgrades to suegunn including the domain hebdenbrigeopensstudios.org. I understand that I will no longer have control over any of it. This is what I want, please make it so. Thank you.

    Ok, I’ve moved ownership of everything over to Sue. Angie, I left you as an admin on the blog (not an owner); if you don’t want any access to it, Sue can now remove you.

    Also, it looked like you split the Premium upgrade into its individual upgrades, which I’m assuming was just because you tried to cancel it while attempting to move it. I’ve put everything back together in the bundle, so Sue can just renew it all at once.

    Finally, Sue, you’ll want to change the WhoIs information for the domain to your own. You can log into the Domain Manager and do this by following these instructions:

    Please note that when you change this information, the domain will be locked from transfer for 60 days, which just means you can’t transfer it out to another registrar until that time has elapsed.
